Description :

The Executive office of Education (EOE) has an initiative underway to enable longitudinal tracking of student data. EOE is seeking a seasoned Senior Developer for a hybrid role a Business Analyst and Senior Software Developer.

Requirements :

1. 5+ years working with end users to gather and document requirements for reporting solutions following best practices.
2. Understanding of Education Data Interoperability standards
3. Excellent client/user interaction skills to determine requirements and the ability to present ideas to various audiences in user-friendly language
4. Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws (FERPA)
5. 5+ years experience with all Cognos 10 / 11 components and including:
a. Framework Manager
b. Report Studio
6. Participate in the development, testing, and implementation of efficient, cost effective reporting solutions.
7. Designs, develops, tests, implements and supports reporting solutions and enhancements.
8. Ability to figure out how existing code works, by reverse engineering, without documentation.
9. Experience with dimensional modeling and experience implementing proper data structures for analytical reporting from an enterprise data warehouse.
10. Strong SQL skills.
11. Experience with Oracle Exadata a plus.

- Sensitivity to interpersonal, organizational and political challenges, and an understanding of how to navigate them effectively.
- Ability to work independently and in an agile manner.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration
