This position shall be skilled in different types of computer hardware, software, peripherals and components, networking protocols and communications. Installs and images new computers and loads appropriate software for customers. Deploys new business applications as needed. Installs local and network printers and other peripherals and configuration of same. Responsible for user data and migration of profiles as computers are replaced. Stays abreast of current technology in a changing environment. Uses significant technical knowledge to resolve complex problems. Receives and verifies the delivery of computer equipment from bulk purchase Vendors. Tags computer hardware and records the assets that were received from Bulk orders. Coordinates with DOT units for the delivery/pickup of computer equipment ordered Required Skills: • Skilled in different types of computer hardware, peripherals and components • Skilled in COTS software installation • Skilled in local and networked printer installation and repair • Ability to work independently on task and monitor progress against defined parameters. • Ability to serve as a productive team member by completing assigned tasks. • Basic knowledge of technical area demonstrated by understanding general principles and practices of the work unit. • Ability to resolve routine problems based on documentation, training, and other resources. • Ability to solicit relevant information from client in order to sufficiently describe problems to a technical expert, and effectively communicate solution to client. Other Requirements: The vendor must notify the Agency if any portion of the requirements listed in this Task Order are to be outsourced to other countries. Include this information in your Task Order response. Selected Candidate must comply with the following: 1) Sign and Comply with NCDOT - IT Non -Disclosure Agreement 2) Submit to an NCDOT approved criminal & credit background check at vendors expense, ( Employment is contingent upon satisfactory outcome of criminal & credit background check. 3) Utilize the NCDOT time sheet application for verification of hours worked. 4) Sign DOT Ethics Policy, DOT State of Understanding regarding use of computer, Information Technology resources, DOT Internet & E-mail Policy & Procedures. 5) State does NOT reimburse for commuting expenses or relocation expenses for anyone. Parking & travel expenses to/from main site & within Raleigh area are to be in hourly rate.
