Job Description Developer: ASP, VB Script, C#, ASP.net Web Services

Client is seeking an Application Developer with Server-Side JavaScript experience to design, develop and support web-centric, object oriented applications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Application Development & System Support (70% of time)
Design, develop, document, test and provide support for web-centric, object-oriented applications.
Use software technologies such as ASP, C#, VB, VBScript, JavaScript, COM, ASP.NET, VB.NET, SQL reports, SQL Server and web services to develop software applications.
Participate in all phases of the development life cycle in accordance with application specifications and business requirements.
Interact with other campus user groups and departments to design and develop specifications and coordinate development effort with team.
Accept various responsibilities and demonstrate skills in all areas of Web and database technologies, such as application design and development, as well as provide testing, technical documentation, and production support.
Provide training and technical assistance to staff.
Provide technical leadership and direction to team members, as required, to ensure a quality end product.
Participate in relevant classes or seminars to increase technical knowledge.
Stay abreast of technical advances, particularly in the area of software development and security.
Create robust and flexible Object Oriented (OO) business solutions and prototype new technical solutions.
Data Base Administration (20% of time)
Provide database administration and data analysis for inter- /intra-departmental databases.
Design, develop, and maintain databases.
Implement database-related projects as aligned with data warehouse QDB and multi dimensional database project.
Perform scheduled database optimization tasks, schema analysis and integration tasks for Web and server accessed queries.
Define, develop, test and implement DB applications for internal interfacing external groups
Design, develop and maintain ad-hoc applications and on-line reports using Query Analyzer, Visual Basic or other development tools applicable for the assigned task.
System Administration (10% of time)
Provide assistance for server administration and server security.
Perform systems monitoring and analysis of performance tasks as needed to keep systems in peak production levels during normal business hours.
Optimize select client-server applications and database systems.
Monitor and report potential system issues related to applications and database systems that impact production and web services.
Assist the implementation of comprehensive Disaster Recovery Procedure.
Perform periodic service level analysis of business applications, databases and web services.
