We will expect this individual to leverage his/her experience in designing security and authentication functions for internet applications that enable individuals to subscribe to products or services and to manage those in an ongoing online self-service interaction with the application. Previous experience in working with or designing internet application security management will be a strong requirement. Responsibilities : * Reports to the GIC CIO and MAGIC Modernization Project Manager * Review and analyze existing GIC health insurance enrollment and maintenance business processes, and review the security and authorization functional design of the online enrollment project and other projects as needed. * Research and investigate network and data access security issues related to requirements for external access to the MAGIC system. * Evaluate our proposed online enrollment web application fuctions related to individual ID access management and how data is secured. * Document proposed system architecture component configurations and specify recommended approach for construction for a secure, encrypted online enrollment workflow. * Deliverable to include technical schematics outlining specific network and server configurations, encryption technology, security functions, and user authentication functions as required. * Serve as web developer for other internal web development initiatives as needed. Required Skills : * 5+ years experience performing the above tasks. * Apply problem solving and technical research skills to resolve platform, application, and security gaps. * Working experience with application encryption, security, and authentication methods and technologies relevant to securing highly confidential data. * Extensive working experience designing and implementing web applications requiring individual secure access to confidential information. * Experience designing or in depth familiarity with industry standard implementations for customer ID management on the web is essential. * Experience with retrieving and updating data between source system and external facing systems through middleware products. * Experience designing, developing, and implementing multi-tiered application architectures that require secure external facing functions to enable self-servicing of products for individuals. * 5+ years experience developing web applications on a .NET platform with the Visual Studio IDE and the Visual Studio SDK. * Working knowledge with ASP, C#, ODBC and MS SQL Server deployments. * Experience with source control technologies and how best to deploy in GIC environment a plus. * Understands network infrastructure and impacts to application architecture. * Ability to research unfamiliar technologies and apply them to the overall architecture solution, if appropriate. * Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate well with business users. Desired Skills : * Familiarity and working knowledge with Software AG Web Methods product suite. * Knowledge or experience in imaging/document management technology helpful. * Familiarity with Natural/ADABAS mainframe environment. * Prior experience working with IBM mainframe and Windows operating system environments a plus. * Experience with middleware tools and their compatibility with our mainframe and PC application development environments a plus   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
