Job Description Engineer: Configuration Management Tools, Python 2.2, AWS, Linux Scripting MySQL Experience DevOps

Responsibilities

· Play key role to our modernization projects to convert the existing traditional database operation into “infrastructure in code” driven managed service products.

· Collaborate with architect/tech leaders to build and maintain automation processes and toolsets for databases provision, code embedded change management, zero-down rollout patching and upgrade, define actionable KPI and build corresponding monitor and alert solution, pluggable/embedded with best practice into the toolsets.

· Collaborate with architect/tech leaders to build repeatable benchmark testing solution against existing databases/data platform.

· Build/automated/improve the database inventory management systems.

· Provide corresponding supporting of automation process and toolsets to database operation team and our ecosystem customers.

· Document and build run-book/playbook

· R&D and PoC new technology solution such as new data platform/databases technology, time-limited token authentication and service discovery etc

Experience required

· 5+ years of experience building, administering and managing mission-critical high available/high volume production databases implementation such as MySQL (required), Cassandra (preferred), Oracle (preferred), MongoDB, or DynamoDB.

· Strong experience in Python, Java or GO

· Strong experience in configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet or Chef

· Experience with Gitlab implementation, CI/CD, source code management and release cycle

· Experience with AWS implementation. (RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, EC2, EBS, ASG, IAM, boto3, etc.)

· Preferred knowledge with application integration with databases (connection pooling, odbc, jdbc etc.)

· Preferred knowledge with Linux OS, KVM, Docker and Kubernetes etc.

· Preferred knowledge with storage system (NFS, SATA, SSD, etc.)

· Ability to learn from job (Hashicorp Vault, Terraform, Logzio, Splunk, Kafka implementation)

· Eager and ability to learn new technology and awareness of emerging technologies and approaches in IT

· Experience working directly with cross-functional teams

· Experience working with performance monitoring visualization tools (Grafana) and time series databases (OpenTSDB, Prometheus etc...)

· Excellent communication skills

· Experience working with Agile and Lean Practices
