Description : SCOPE OF THE PROJECT: It has an immediate need for a Business Analyst to assist the Office of Educator Services with gathering business requirements around developing an Educator Preparation Program System. The objectives are: 1. To have an automated system the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHEs) can use to enter, review, and update Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs); 2. Track EPP approvals by assigned review teams; 3. provide a public portal where prospective educators can research where their program certification can be obtained; 4. Candidates can be enrolled within this application into a program. 5. Link to Teacher Certification system to show program completion; 6. marking dual credit courses that qualify for college-ready or career-ready status; 7. Show the history of Programs requested and all versions of documentation. 8. Show State Board of Education approved and / or endorsed programs by provider. By the end of the calendar year, we want to have a detailed plan in place for moving forward, including scope(s) of work for design and development. SCDE is particularly looking for a Business Analyst that has knowledge and experience with application implementations and/or development of large/enterprise software applications who can work proactively with project team and stakeholders to define the business requirements and test cases/plans for each solution. DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are primary activities which the Business Analyst will be expected to perform. • Interviewing the stakeholders to identify their business requirements (and they may identify others); • Having those stakeholders assist in identifying district stakeholders to interview and get requirements; • Learning about the educator certification process and program areas in which certification can be obtained; • Researching what other states are doing (e.g., rumor has it Georgia has a system); • Pull information about costs; • Assist in determining what direction the agency will move in building or purchasing an Educator Preparation Program System to reach the above objectives; and • Report project progress weekly to Director, Project and Application Management.
