Software to be integrated in a PaaS solution includes those products used for building micro-services such as Apache Tomcat, Play, Nginix, NodeJS, as well as DevOps tools used to automate and accelerate the software development life cycle (SDLC), such as Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, or Git. The Analyst is responsible for providing technical expertise and advocacy around how such solutions can help address business opportunities and challenges while optimizing infrastructure spend. The individual will interface directly with internal customers in all phases of the SDLC as it pertains to implementation or use of cloud infrastructures and architectures managed within a PaaS solution. The PaaS Analyst will guide customers from use of legacy multi-tiered solutions to use of secure containerized solutions. The PaaS Analyst will need to be proficient in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offerings (server, storage, & network) as well as have an in-depth knowledge of data center operations, data center migrations, and managed services. In addition to the above the PaaS Analyst will: Provide expert technical guidance for PaaS services including integration into existing technology and system management. Assist in technical management of initial PaaS implementations Ensure all the platform and runtime microservices are in compliance with existing security requirements. Drive optimization of current and innovation for next generation PaaS implementations. Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of industry directions and trends for PaaS Work with service providers to establish and deliver the platform vision and strategy that supports business functional roadmaps. Architect scalable container deployments in selected PaaS environment. Help customers develop and execute against migration plans. Follow rigorous cloud and local data center hardware and operating system implementation and management process to achieve goals and time frames. Work with support teams, customer, and other internal groups to address product requirements and resolve customer issues. Mentor junior team members in management of PaaS implementations. REQUIRED: BS in Computer Science or equal experience. 5+ years of experience in administering app/web servers (Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, WebSphere, Nginx, Weblogic). 3+ years experience scripting ( Bash, Ksh, Perl, Python, Ruby, Jython). 1+ year of experience working in a cloud environment. 1+ year Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Urban Code Deploy experience. Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment. Working knowledge of one or more of the following cloud solutions: IBM Softlayer, Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2. Strong ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus. Strong oral and written communication skills. PREFERRED: Cloud Computing Certification. Redhat Openshift experience. 1+ year of experience working with Docker containers. 1+ years of experience working with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, RHEL) and tools. Experience with functional or technical aspects of enterprise scale information systems. Experience in working with varied architectural concepts, principles, and tools relevant to infrastructure, information, applications, organizational structure, etc. ITIL Foundations certification.
