Responsibilities Are you a tech & IT geek? We have a 9-month project with our client in Albany, NY that requires a Business Analyst This Business Analyst role will be supporting the Strategic Operations team by working with various staff across the Authority assisting in the implementation of programs that meet market and strategic objectives. Day-to-Day Tasks include, but not limited to: Proactively monitor Program Activity to spot areas where the team can engage in program design and implementation assistance Assist the management of the NYSERDA Lean Program as necessary Work with functional business leads to develop and transform requirements into systems design and implementation. Collect, document, map, and analyze business process and system dependencies. Configure data fields for delivered functionality / core modules based upon stakeholder input. Gather, synthesize, and document business requirements. Effectively communicate status, collaborate, and problem-solve with relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with colleagues to identify recommendations for process improvements, overcoming constraints, and resolve difficult operational and technological issues. Identify, mitigate, and manage risk. Document changes to the design and implementation of various systems which includes but not limited to: Salesforce, SharePoint O365, and PeopleSoft. Manage ongoing support requests and research / document the needs behind those requests. Work directly with and serve as the liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams. Assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategies and risks. Provide significant contributions in the testing and debugging of new functionality. Assist in the improvement and integration of automation and tools designed to support work and decision making. Recommend leveraging existing functionality that might be available rather than building new. Mandatory Qualifications: 3 years of experience in a Business Analysis role Salesforce Administrator certification, a plus Interest and experience in energy and energy efficiency Prior experience in government is beneficial, but not required Experience and skill in discerning true requirements stemming from needs as opposed to business units less critical wants and wishes. Experience with Office 365 applications Preferred Qualifications: Excellent communication and analytical skills Ability to quickly learn organizational structure, business strategies and processes Self-motivated and comfortable with initial ambiguity; resourceful enough to drive towards clarity by evaluating the solutions landscape Ability to problem solve independently by diagnosing problems, gathering requirements for resolution and engaging the right stakeholders to determine solutions Knowledge of change management best practices Ability to collaborate cross functionally with various employees Detail oriented and a critical thinker Experience with Lean or Business Process Reengineering, a plus Skill in documenting requirements and specifications, and creating visual aids representing business processes using standard methods. Skill in managing multiple diverse activities simultaneously, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and strong judgement. Ability to quickly identify and drive the best possible solution when presented with a series of opportunities and constraints.
