POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: BA or BS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or relevant experience. Three+ years of progressive experience in computing and information security, including experience with Internet technology and security issues. Experience should include Cisco router and firewall technology, Microsoft AD, Windows OS, Intrusion Detection monitoring, network penetration testing, application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis and compliance testing. Knowledge of information security standards related to information security and data confidentiality ( HIPAA, PCI, etc.) and desktop, server, application, database, network security principles for risk identification and analysis. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal and consultative skills. This position requires some weekend and evening assignments as well as availability during off-hours for participation in scheduled and unscheduled activities. POSITION SUMMARY: Works under general supervision with a moderate degree of independent judgment. Responsible for all facets of microcomputer and network security. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and percent of time:15% 1. Monitor and advise on information security issues related to systems and workflow to ensure the internal security controls are appropriate and operating as intended. Uses products deemed acceptable, to monitor all Networking equipment and ensures secure computing as deemed by company policy Create, manage and maintain user security awareness 10% 2. Troubleshoots and maintains Wide Area Network infrastructure. Manages firmware, configuration, and troubleshooting Routers, Switches, DSUs, high speed T1 lines and Virtual Private Network between All sites. Applies patches and upgrades as they become available to maintain high levels of up time and flexibility. Finds solutions to problems quickly through Internet research or by utilizing vendor specific support help lines. 5% 3. Coordinate response to information security incidents Documents any incidents Notifies proper officials of Security incidents 10% 4. Develop and publish Information Security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements Works directly with Director to develop and implement Conduct security research in keeping abreast of latest security issues Prepares documentation, including department policies and procedures 15% 5. Develops, implements, and maintains firewall technologies that secure the organizations website and data resources. Develops plans and procedures. Ensures the safety and privacy of Internet and intranet sites through the implementation of network security policies. Assures that the firewall is up to date by implementing patches and upgrades as they become available. Makes approved modifications to configurations in a timely manner. Reviews security logs weekly and reports violation, alerts and any abnormalities to the Director, Network Services. 15% 6. Conduct security audits and manage remediation plans. Assures that all security patches to O.S and related software are installed consistently and timely across all servers by actively monitoring vendor sights, downloading patches and installing them. Patches that address vulnerabilities that exist in our systems need to be installed within 24 hours to all effected servers. 10% 7.
