Description-

Job Code 07554J Responsible for performing technology research and development, enterprise software evaluations, documenting current state, future state, performing gap analysis, and creation of reference models. Must understand the Zachman framework, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF Certification a plus), and The NASCIO framework. Must be able to work with various State Agency personnel and Vendors. Must be able to think conceptually and tactically. Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in this job class.

·Works with project group, application owners, developers, and stakeholders to develop Solutions Designs to meet business vision and capabilities with technology solutions.

·Be able to interpret and work with existing design publications and documentation.

· Participates in the continuous improvement of the States cloud strategy, communications, organizational change management and other deliverables.

·Participate in the project management pipelines for the States priority initiatives.

·Researches, evaluates and is a consultant and advocate for current and emerging technologies, participating in Research and Innovation initiatives.

·Assists in the continuous improvement of internal best practices, policies, and governance.

·Assists in defining, designing, and publishing reference architectures, collaborating with additional teams as required.

·Participates in the development of documentation for the States various environments.

·Communicates with external entities including vendors to research software, services, or products for the States various environments.

·Identifies technical skill gaps (capabilities) and makes recommendations of appropriate training required to support cloud adoption.

·Working knowledge or expertise in enterprise network, systems, databases and security to ensure proper design and publication of solutions fall within best practice.

· Works independently or as part of a team in order to further the States Priority Initiatives/Projects.

·Responsible for the oversight of department application assessment, guidance, scheduling and tracking of the legacy application migration to the States Cloud environment.

·Provides specific input for the software components of system design to include software utilization, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level individual software components.

·Presents and advocates design specifics, attributes to a varying audience, from highly technical staff, up to Executive staff.

·Provides expertise in defining techniques and protocols for system integration in a cloud environment.

·Works with application teams to ensure the compliance of security policies and standards in the solution design.

·Facilitates an understanding of the technical recommendations and communicates design rationale to project team members.
