This position requires a good understanding of DOCSIS, PacketCable (NCS/IMS) and cable modem provisioning. The engineer will be involved in Test Execution, documentation of Test Reports and troubleshooting field escalations. Additional areas of technical focus will be on TR-069, Fiber to the Home (FTTH), IPv6, Multicast, and Voice Services, among others. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Work with engineering team to review firmware requirements and provide feedback Participate in weekly bug classification and prioritization Establish test network environments as documented in test plans Perform system-wide end-to-end integration and regression testing Document results and review with designated teams or vendors as needed. Work with vendor and other stakeholders to resolve issues discovered during testing; develop and document workarounds where possible, and assist operations team with implementation and escalations as needed Participate in Operational handoff review activities Accomplish the above tasks within allotted project timelines Required Qualifications Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly Candidates should have at least 2 years of hands-on network engineering experience, preferably with a cable Multiple System Operator (MSO) or Internet Service Provider (ISP). Experience in CPE Testing is strongly desired. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of DOCSIS, PacketCable (NCS/IMS) and provisioning, including TR069. Experience with IP routing, IP multicast, streaming video, wireless, Voice over IP (VoIP), and/or home networking is desired. Experience with automation, databases, scripting, and system administration is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
