The Application Manager works closely with the Business (Bureau/Program) – Health Professions Licensure and Information Technologies leadership to proactively identify, develop and drive short-term and long-term application strategies. The Application Manager is responsible for understanding the specific needs, budgets, and interests of the business and how these relate to their particular application portfolio, while ensuring compliance with Information Technologies (IT) policies and procedures.
The Application Manager oversees and directs the IT application support and project management teams comprised of both contractual and full-time employees. Duties include ensuring proper project governance, project monitoring, issue tracking, implementing corrective action, status reporting and ensuring the completion of all project deliverables on time and on budget.

The Application Manager directly supervises and monitors the operational and project activities of Project Managers, external providers, and internal IT support staff, providing both mentoring and training as required. The Application Manager is responsible to ensure the high availability of all business applications through the strict adherence to all EOHHS and ITS PMO, Security, Quality Assurance, Change Management and Release Management practices. He/she is responsible for effectively allocating resources, prioritizing workload, monitoring systems and staff performance, and providing expertise in all business, application and IT related matters. This position reports to Program Manager and the Director of DPH Applications and Compliance.






KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with IT and Bureau management, i.e. responsible to continually improve and monitor operational, project, and business practices.
• Work with Management in the development and implementation of the DPH IT Governance, Communication and Continuous Service Improvement strategies, which require participating in or conducting ongoing IT Roadmap Workshops.
• Conduct, review, and approve performance appraisals, provide training and mentor members of the application support and project management teams.
• Accountable for ensuring production and project support services meet and/or exceed business application support level agreement o
