The SharePoint Specialist fulfils a "Jack of all Trades" role, equally comfortable with working with SharePoint farm administrators to configure advanced services or features, researching and/or working with Microsoft or other support to solve complex problems, working with department management and analysts to discover, document, and maintain requirements, and preforming power-user type task such as helping end-users configure document libraries or lists, configuring app parts, or building basic workflows. The SharePoint Specialist will collaborate with customers to deliver effective and innovative business technology solutions. Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with customers and the Information Technology Division to design, build, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites and site collections. Drive the evolution of governance documentation, designing best practices, documenting procedures, crafting learning resources, maintaining disaster recovery procedures, etc. Collaborate with customers on SharePoint projects which may include requirements gathering, use case development and analysis, solution design, and project management. Assist customers with SharePoint sites and site collections, answering questions, training the business Admins, suggesting improvements to their process or methodology, etc. General troubleshooting of problems experienced by SharePoint users, and collaborative participation with the SharePoint engineers to resolve problems with the platform. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor. Experience in the following: Acting as a site collection administrator, including the following: o Managing content structure, managed metadata, taxonomy and term store management o Moving sites o Best practice security/permissions design, implementation, and management o Managing Site Collection and Site/Sub Site features Search Configuration, Result Sources, Result Types, Query Rules Standard Team, Project, and Publishing Site components and their configuration: o Manage Document Library and List settings such as; versioning and Item Scheduling, audience targeting, and metadata navigation o List View Threshold/Capacity Planning o Lookup Columns; Calculated Columns, and Site columns o Cross Site publishing, Catalogs, and Search-Driven content and Content Rollup app parts Master pages, page layouts, and custom design packages a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Familiarity with document management, (content types, document retention custom content types, information management policy and record declaration settings, capacity planning, managed metadata). Familiarity with reviewing SharePoint logs (EventViewer and ULS). Experience creating SharePoint Designer workflows. Solid understanding of relational database concepts. Strong customer service, with good organization and communications skills. Strong analytical thinking and excellent troubleshooting. Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects. Familiarity with Systems Development Life Cycle and Change Control processes. Experience with ASP.NET and Web Services a plus. Must be able to answer Service Desk questions and prioritize tickets from the help desk. Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to clearly define projects, objectives, goals, schedules and assignments.
