Description:
Waukesha County is seeking website development experts to re-engineer the current County website
in order to improve current customer service interactions, provide opportunities for cost-savings,
increase revenue, enhance online experiences, and to establish a long-term strategy for website
redevelopment and maintenance. The website redesign should establish best practices for both optimal
frontend and backend processes.
Preference will be given to vendors who are able to meet all objectives listed in Section III. Website
Redesign Objectives.
Vendor / solution must meet the following requirements:
1) Collaborative Effort: The website will be developed through the cooperation of the County and
the vendor and facilitated under the supervision of the County IT Project Management Office
(PMO).
2) Design and features: Solution must feature responsive design, intuitive user experience and
seamless integration with 3rd party solutions and should support long-term website strategy to
ensure that customer needs are being met upon completion and well into the future.
3) Content Management: Solution must have a robust Content Management System (CMS)
architecture that allows ease of content management (mobile or web access), as well as content
delivery, and its integration with back-end content repositories.
4) Analytics: Optimized customer service experience while capitalizing on SEO.
5) Hosting Options: Vendor will offer options for hosting, support and maintenance. The Countys
preference is for a hosted solution
1. Work with Waukesha County staff to design and implement a new website in accordance with
the Phase 1 Website Redesign recommendations.
2. Align new design with increasing customer service, accessibility, and operations consistent with
industry best practices.
3. Optimize content delivery, maintenance and retention.
4. Optimize interfaces with existing County applications.
5. Enhance current Search Engine Optimization (SEO) rankings for important keywords.
6. Improve inventory and analytics and eliminate redundancy.
7. Provide a hosting platform for the County to utilize for its website.
8. Provide maintenance and support for the website.
