The position will participate in the development of the Hospital Discharge Data System (HDDS) Relational Database, a repository for linkages created between HDDS data with other health data. This position will be responsible for the statistical linkage of two disparate health datasets located at the Tennessee Department of Health, to join the power of both datasets. As part of this role, the individual will work closely with other data stewards in the Division of Population Health Assessment. The individual will also document standard operating procedures including data flow, metadata and policies, and they will educate and train staff on how and when to use the new data set. This position will require a working knowledge of SAS and Microsoft Access. This work is critical to the work of a grant project that received funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position will be supervised by the Director of the Office of Healthcare Statistics and may also provide analytical support to other programs in the Division of Population Health Assessment, as needed. A strong attention to detail is required for the completion of tasks. This position is made possible by funds from a CDC COVID-19 grant.
