Job Description :

Role:

we are seeking a Senior Solaris/Linux administrator to support the operations of affiliated companies.


Location:

Irvine, CA 92602

Responsibilities:

· Solaris (SPARC)/Linux/Exadata Administrator

· Responsible for installation, configuration, and management of Solaris 1x/Exadata/Linux (RHEL preferred) supporting multiple environments

· Provide support middleware admin during installation, configuration and maintenance of middleware stack

· Monitor and tune all environments for optimal performance

· Monitor, schedule and perform OS core (Solaris/Exadata/Linux) system patches, upgrades and support code deployments

· Establish and maintain appropriate access levels and permissions for environments

· Work closely with all team members to debug performance related problems and identify performance bottle necks

· Proactively make recommendations and follow through to keep environments secure, up to date, and functional for intended user groups

· Provide production support and extended support when required to meet project deadlines

· Create documentation on current processes and newly engineered solutions.



Job Requirements:

· Solid hands-on experience in installation, configuration, and administration of Solaris/Linux/Oracle Environments

· Experience in configuring Solaris based environments

· Experience working with OpsCenter

· Experience working with VERITAS (file systems, clustering) products

· Experience configuring and managing application and performance management monitoring tools

· Experience configuring and managing software security and data integrity tools

· Experience working with SAN, network and security Administrators

· Experience with UNIX scripting

· Experience with Oracle SPARC Hardware M3/4/5000 and T4/5/7-x

· Experience with Exadata X4-2 and X6-2

· Experience with InfiniBand (IB) switches

· Experience with Email and DNS Server Configuration

· People skills with ability to interact with non-technical and non-IT peers

Notes from the Hiring Manager:

· Solaris = Understanding the iOS structure and the layouts of Solaris

· They are going to be assisting with migrations and provisioning Solaris: Logical Domains (LDoms or LDOM) is the server virtualization and partitioning technology for SPARC V9 processors.

· Need to be proficient with both Veritas and OpsCenter

· They will need to be familiar with both Oracle Solaris versions 10 & 11

· The candidate will be a member of an Operations Team providing support for all aspects of customers UNNIX infrastructure and responsible for providing engineering, implementation and technical support for the Oracle SPARC, Oracle Engineering systems and RedHat systems

· UNIX Administrator responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle SPARC, Oracle Exadata and RedHat operating systems

· Recognizes and troubleshoots problems with server hardware and applications software

· Deploy, configure and update management tools such as OpsCenter and Satellite

· Establishes and documents standards and procedures for management review

· Requires extensive knowledge of computer operations and familiarity with shell and kernel programming.
