Experience with Golden Gate, RMAN, and Data Guard is required. Experience with Oracles Data Integration Platform Cloud (DIPC) Service preferred. Experience in PeopleSoft database support including Oracle/PeopleSoft performance tuning and troubleshooting skills preferred. Familiarity with the latest Oracle releases and the full license feature set such as multitenancy, advanced compression, partitioning, cloud management pack, data masking and subsetting, etc… is also preferred. Hands on experience with Exadata Critical Patch updates preferred. Experience in scripting and automation a plus. Experience in Sparse Cloning, Key Vault, and database firewall also a plus but not required. Project Scope: The University of Wisconsin – Madison is replacing the current on premise Oracle Exadata X4 servers with an on premise Exadata Cloud at Customer (C@C) solution. High availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) for the databases will be configured as the environments are installed and databases moved from the Exadata X4 to the new Exadata C@C. The successful completion of the project will result in migrating all databases (both ERP and non-ERP) from the Exadata X4s to the new Exadata C@C architecture with HA and DR configured as required. This position is for an Oracle DBA expert to help UW architect the correct Exadata storage configuration, create the data transfer strategy, then assist with the migration, tuning, and troubleshooting of the database environments from the Exadata X4 environment to the Exadata C@C environment. Goal of Engagement: 1. Review current database Exadata architecture – create/help create a new Exadata database architecture. 2. Create/help create a migration strategy/plan. 3. Migrate/assist with migration of databases to new Exadata. 4. Provide tuning, troubleshooting, automation where required. The consultant will complete the project in conjunction with UW-Madison personnel.
