Description: This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting projects sponsored by Technical Operations organization responsible for IT Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC), service desk and service technology. This position will lead projects to identify areas of opportunity to close risk and compliance gaps while supporting the identification of controls across Starbucks Technology. The controls may include IT SOX, PCI, CCPA or other domestic or international regulatory requirements. Locating individuals in other parts of Starbucks to support the work is a key component of this position. People skills crossed with broad technology awareness plus strong PM capabilities are core requirements. Additionally, project management of various Technology Operations projects is also needed. Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects This person will directly support the GRC initiatives Starbucks currently uses a user access permissions management tool called Approva for reporting. It enables the system owner to evaluate and identify segregation of duties conflicts. GRC intends to replace this system. The selected individual will be responsible for managing the project to identify requirements, participate in the selection of the replacement system as well as manage its procurement and implementation. End to End (E2E) monitoring is another large initiative driven by the Technical Operations organization. It is responsible for guiding system owners to define system health, define the service level objectives and collect the baseline metrics that indicate health. This individual will help drive some of these activities also. Typical Day in the Role This person will need to ensure that procedures are put in place, but not necessarily need to execute said procedure. This person will need to translate governance into controls – identify the risk for Starbucks and build out a map for the working team to execute against to eliminate the gap. Candidate will work closely with the Governance Financial Risk and Controls (GFRC) group as they are a similar team supporting the business side of the company Oversees tactical planning and day-to-day management of one or more programs in the IT portfolio Collaborates with IT and business leadership on annual strategic planning for the program. In partnership with the program portfolio manager, engages stakeholders on project ideation and assists in the creation of business cases and return on investment assessments. Develops a deep understanding of projects within the program and the broader IT portfolio; manages assigned projects with a clear understanding of business and IT context, and develops a deep understanding of cross-program portfolio synergies and dependencies. Drives complex, cross-functional enterprise projects, leading multiple efforts within a specific program simultaneously with complexity as a limiting factor. Performs core project management duties, including guiding the project through formal approval and funding gates; developing a project plan that includes a detailed budget, project timeline, detailed task-driven schedule, project RACI and resource plan, and communication plan; and managing project execution from analysis/ design through build, test, and deployment.
