This person will allow the State Lab to supplement existing staff who must complete the setup and reporting of specific lab tests in order to meet the Federal requirements outlined by the CDC. This goal is complimentary to the purpose of the LRN-B network of bioterrorism laboratories. Duties include but not limited to: * Work with the different internal laboratory specialists to help complete their required tasks in the set up and configuration of the lab test modules within the LIMS supported by the IT staff. * Aid in the verification of the user data entry screens and final reports. * With the lab specialists, help review and verify the Electronic Lab Result messages with appropriate CDC personnel and information technology staff to ensure proper compliance to the lab need. * Help coordinate the training of the laboratory staff and technicians to use the configured module. * Organize, review and verify in LIMS that the lab staff have met the demographic, test methods, equipment and lab inventory required in their processes. * Help outline and document specific laboratory policy and procedures associated with the individual lab. Required Skills: * 3-5 years of technically-based experience providing system analysis services and working as a liaison for lab personnel that involves helping to outline the needed configuration for a BT lab process within a LIMS. * 3-5 years of experience with standards-based (i.e., HL7) message content protocols. * Knowledge of laboratory business processes, regulations, and standards. * Working knowledge of laboratory equipment, materials, and testing processes Desired Skills: * Knowledge and experience with the CDCs LRN-B LIMSi specifications. * Knowledge and experience working within a laboratory testing environment. * Knowledge and experience writing documentation, including policies and procedure manuals. * Experience with how lab technicians utilize lab module models within a LIMS such as the Starlims Laboratory Information Management System (v10 or v11).   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
