The Data Center Engineer will be responsible for the data center infrastructure projects and day-to-day operational activities of the Data Center Services (DCS) group. The DCS team is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all server hardware/devices. The position requires a professional with proven experience and success in managing the full life cycle of data center infrastructure projects including planning customer server installations, cabling, and designing structured cable plant systems. This individual will provide excellent customer service and report progress regularly. They will also assist the DCS team with troubleshooting server/network/storage systems. The work environment is fast paced and deadline-oriented where adaptability is key to our success as a team, thus having depth knowledge of working large-scale data center environments is necessary. Key responsibilities include: Ability to execute tasks required to deliver small to mid-size projects from various internal customers of competing priorities and work them through to an effective resolution Ability to take direction from senior engineers and escalate issues or tasks as needed Responsible for all data center related hardware installations/repairs, configurations, troubleshooting (Intel/Linux/Network/Mainframe), upgrades (firmware) and optimization. Strong understanding of HP & Cisco standalone servers, enclosures, & blades. Hands on experience with x86 architecture based systems (strong intel background) Full understanding of data center cabling standards including fiber optics. Ability to understand and follow procedures to ensure all work is done in a diligent and successful manner. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time Knowledge and experience with change request, safe time and service request procedures Experience with installing racks, setting up power, installing Ethernet, fiber and console cabling, terminate copper, label, remote power and KVM.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
