Job Description

· A software development team in Sonys VAIO and Mobile of America (VMOA) division is looking for an expert to help us create cutting-edge web applications using Javascript, HTML5, and CSS3.

· Responsibilities

· Lead development of code with a team of developers

· Coming up with algorithms to solve problems

· Develop HTML, CSS, and Javascript from design specifications

· System/unit testing and code reviews

· Technical specifications/documentation as needed

· Mentoring junior staff and sharing knowledge

· Required skills:

· Passion for great user experiences

· Experience testing/measuring user experiences is a plus

· Expert developing web applications and rich internet applications

· Experience with HTML5/CSS3

· Canvas experience is a plus

· Experience creating client interaction between HTML and ActiveX, COM controls, or Silverlight

· Expert developing with Javascript

· Not only copy-and-paste scripting with jQuery, but real programming with Javascript

· Knowledge of prototypal inheritance and how to use closures

· Expert using CSS

· Expert using JSON

· Experience with web services (REST/SOAP)

· Exposure to Cloud Computing, web and mobile applications development

· Experience with complex web architectures

· Experience mostly in .NET/ASP or Java J2EE/etc experience is not sufficient.

· Experience developing in other languages (C++, Java, etc.)

· Working knowledge of SVN

· Solid understanding of design patterns and object oriented programming

· First hand experience developing using the MVC framework

· Highly prefer experience with the following: PHP, Photoshop, Illustrator

· Experience in agile/scrum is preferred

· Experience with Windows Mobile 7 development is a plus

· 10+ years of software engineering/development experience

· University degree in Computer Science / Electronics / Mathematics / Engineering or equivalent but suitable experience will also be considered
