Creating such experiences for our website is a unique challenge and requires a developer with extremely solid skills in programming, specifically front end development skills with HTML5\XHTML Strict, CSS2\3 and a senior level skillset with OOP JavaScript. The should be extremely comfortable with understanding web development systems, CMSs, design patterns, architectures and the latest techniques. If the developer has a good understanding of .NET MVC or C# than that will be preferable by any advanced knowledge of other MVC based applications architectures is also desired (ruby on rails, django, cakePHP). If we could find a developer that can bridge the gap between front end development and back end development that would be the ideal role for this developer. A developer with just solid HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills will not be as suitable in this position as they do need to connect with back end developers to solve complex application development issues. This developer will be part of a small team focused on creating complex and unique applications and experiences for our site so they must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with their team and stakeholders. HTML5 and XHTML • Experience with HTML5 Markup and best practices • Must have a solid understanding of progressive enhancement • Full mastery of XHTML Strict CSS • Ability to hand-code CSS 2 and 3. • Mastery of cross-browser development, testing, and debugging. • Ability to progressively enhance styles using CSS for specific browser support JavaScript • Ability to create complex web applications using javascript\jquery. • Mastery of Ajax • Ability to code OOP JavaScript • Understand native javascript, its good\bad parts, and understanding of how to use a lint tool.
