Job Description Engineer: Help Desk, MS Office, Mac OS, IT Professional

Desktop Systems Engineer

Tier 3 support of all software the section is responsible for (Windows OS, Mac OS, Software Distribution, Security products on the Desktop etc.).
Responsible for the planning, engineering, and maintenance of the organizations desktop environment infrastructure, including OS images, GPOs, and Desktop Configuration, BIOS.
Responsible for the planning, engineering, and maintenance of the organizations endpoint security solutions and infrastructure.
Responsible for the planning, engineering and maintenance of the organizations software distribution and configuration management solutions and infrastructure.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of the desktop.
Work with external vendors on resolving problems and also to evaluate new technology.
Evaluates patches and make decisions on whether to deploy.
Evaluate and suggest new technologies related to the sections area of responsibility.
May provide consultation on complex projects and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager of a group or section.

Required Skills:
Experience managing all security applications
Experience working with whitelisting products/applications
Experience with Endpoint anti-virus solutions (Symantec)

6-9 plus Years
Bachelors in Related Field; Tech. Certification Desirable
