Job Description Specialist: Fast-Paced Technical Service, Operating Systems, IIS, DB2 LANS Data Communications Concepts PC

** Only W2 Employee - No Subcontracting

** Can submit only Green Card and Citizens

** Can submit at higher rate

*** Over Time is paid at 1.420 times
OT - Extra Hours on Weekdays and Saturdays

*** Double Time is paid at 2.0 times
DT - Hours worked on Sundays

Position Purpose:

Assist in the implementation of software applications and management of server base operating systems. Responsible for maintaining and upgrading servers and infrastructure components, as well as providing operational support.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

Perform the following activities under limited direction:

· Plan and organize load configuration, architectural design, and support of client production servers and software.

· Interface with technical and in-house customer service personnel to determine nature of non-routine and moderately-complex problems and implement remedial procedures for customer.

· Rebuild system configurations as needed in production and in a Disaster Recovery Mode.

· Analyze and evaluate applications and provide technical direction and recommendations to improve utilization.

· Provide production support to the Business Unit for all operational application issues, including new product roll-outs, upgrades and improvement to process.

· Perform PCI report verifications and insure all servers are PCI compliant.

· Install application software in both lower and production environments. Provide expertise for all complex software issues running within the production environment.

· Perform complex application file reloads and system recoveries and guide others to do the same. Provide expertise in file dependency, contingency, and application interaction.

· Implement new client setups for designated product lines. Work directly with the conversion / implementation teams that are performing client specifications and file incorporation.

· Deploy software and act as the development lead for production best practices and deployment methodology.

· Performs the necessary research and testing tasks to implement new products and technology.

· Develops procedures and standards for the implementation and maintenance of the new applications.

· Communicates effectively the status and results of service problems to clients, coworkers and management as necessary.

· Prioritize tasks to meet the demand for new products and services.

· Continually stay up-to-date on latest technology changes within scope.

· Keeps accurate records according to department procedures.

· Works closely with Client Services as the Subject Matter Expert for specific applications assigned.

· May provide guidance and training to less experienced associates.

· Other projects as assigned by the manager.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred.


Job Related Experience:


· 7 years of experience in a fast-paced technical service support position.

· Working knowledge of Operating Systems, IIS, SQL, DB2.

· Experience in a Server Control environment or LAN environment.

· Strong knowledge of Data Communications concepts.

· PC hardware and software knowledge.

· Experience dealing with internal and external customers (Problem resolution, explanations, consultation, presentations, etc.).
