Description :

Senior Database Administrator / System Architect

Oracle and Middleware Architect - Responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance or the server infrastructure and application design. Contributes considerable business and technical knowledge to the Bridges projects. Provides 24 x 7 x 365 database administration, software, and hardware support.

Major Responsibilities
o Responsible for Oracle, servers, networks, build process.
o Consult for initial hardware design and acquisition.
o Continually maintain security requirements for both the IRS and SOM DTMB Enterprise Security.
o Ensure backups are reliable and being done on a regular schedule.
o Monitor database servers, answer requests, and resolve all production issues (including issues caused outside the servers but affecting them) 24 x 7 x 365.
o Design of UNIX/Oracle security model, database physical design (Oracle), database performance monitoring, database change review and implementation, database capacity planning
o Perform backup processes
o Perform duplicating/refreshing databases using RMAN duplication
o Responsible for capacity planning
o Responsible for SQL tuning
o Manage day-to-day database operations, monitor and maintain schema objects
o Responsible for shell scripting processes to make database changes and build processes run smoothly, including Windows and Unix
o Performs release build/ configuration management of the databases
o Understands multithreaded Java design and tuning
o Responsible for design, development, and implementation of document data extract and document generation system (Java, SSLT, Oracle PL/SQL), and application tuning (Java and Oracle)
o Responsible for day-to-day database operations, monitoring and maintaining schema objects
o Responsible for system redundancy, failover, and high system availability strategies
o Responsible for Enterprise System Management i.e. Oracle Grid Control, IBM Rational, HP ALM
o Responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of the following system components
Oracle Grid Control
SQL Server DBA Admin
Dataguard
Audit Vault
MQ
Dynamics
Informatica PowerCenter
Dynatrace
Batch processing support
Opcon
IIR/SSA
IBM Rational tool set
HP ALM/Quality Center Admin
Elixir Opus
Skills and Qualifications
o Computer science or business degree or equivalent working experience.
o Candidate must be a self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player
o 8 to 10 years of experience in system Oracle database administration and structured development methodology
o Experience with full project lifecycle from project charter to implementation and support.
o Experience with the capacity plan and design of future expansion and development
o Design / support experience with both online and batch environments
o Highly experienced with the administration of Oracle databases through 12c
o Experienced with 24/7 problem solving in an existing, complex environment including monitoring disk, CPU and network performance anomalies and the ability to act immediately upon
o system and/or network performance alarms
o Experience with designing and implementing database backup and build processes and scripts
o Experience in the design and implementation of archival processes and scripts for WebSphere application logs and SQL tuning strategies
o Knowledge of VMWare, physical server configuration, and network configurations
o Experience with monitoring and reporting on data loads related to interfaces, including analysis of problems and recommendations for performance improvements
