Description :

The State of Wisconsin is looking for Desktop Support III positions.
Must be able to lift 50lbs. as needed.
Must have a valid WI Drivers License.

This position will be responsible for imaging, configuring, and deploying remote work equipment for agency employees in support of a new hybrid workplace initiative. Additionally, it will be responsible for providing 2nd level technical assistance for software and hardware related to the initiative. This position requires extensive knowledge and experience with desktop technology including, but not limited to, Windows desktop operating systems, desktop applications, Apple iPads, and Apple iPhones. This position receives escalated level support issues from an internal Service Desk. The incumbent shall have 3 or more years of experience in a Desktop Support position and be familiar with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures relating to Desktop Support. This Desktop Support position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This Desktop Support position is expected to independently perform a variety of desktop related tasks and serve as a desktop expert on day-to-day end user issues. A wide degree of self-direction, prioritization and latitude are expected. On call/stand-by hours may be required with this position.

DCF Hybrid Workplace

Contractor, Vendor and Contract Staff Best Practices

DCF utilizes many contractors and vendor agency staff (contract staff), in addition to full-time equivalent (FTE), limited time employee (LTE) and project staff to complete the work of the department. The new Hybrid Workplace Policy 462 (anticipated publication May 2021) does not apply to contractors, vendors, or contract staff. Contract staff should not be treated as employees. The following is a list of best practices and guidance related to contractors, vendors and contract staff and their ways of working post-pandemic.
The information below is specific to the Vendor Management Services (VMS) contract. These best practices will go into effect as of July 1, 2021, unless otherwise specified.
Non-VMS contract language may be negotiated to best meet DCF business needs. The Norms and Expectations listed below can be used as a guide to implement best practices and used to develop contract language, as needed.
VMS Contractor/Vendor Norms & Expectations
Space
• Contracted staff will generally be expected to work primarily remote to DCF facilities.
• Hoteling space will be used for individual work when contract staff come into DCF facilities to collaborate, as necessary.
• Office furnishings/equipment will not be provided for contract staff to work virtually.
IT Equipment
• Contract staff will be provided access to a DCF VDI to perform their work. They will generally not be supplied DCF IT hardware assets. This norm will be met for existing contract staff upon contract rebid/renewal.
