Description :

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

PROJECT IS SUPPORT OF ONGOING DATA CENTER PROJECTS TO INSURE SUCCESSFUL AND SECURE DELIVERY OF AGENCY APPLICATIONS AND SERVICES. ASSIGNMENT INCLUDES MANAGING AND SUPPORTING EXISTING AND NEW SERVERS, REVIEWING AND INSURING ADEQUATE AND SECURE ALLOCATION OF RESOURCES AND STORAGE, AND ASSIST WITH ACTIVE DIRECTORY ACCOUNTS, SYSTEM SUPPORT, PARTNERING WITH SECURITY TEAM TO MONITOR AND IMPLEMENT SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE UPDATES, AND IMPLEMENTING AZURE CLOUD SERVICES CONFIGURATION AND SUPPORT.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

THIS POSITION WILL PROVIDE TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND SUPPORT FOR ONGOING PROJECTS AND SYSTEMS MANAGED WITHIN THE AGENCYS DATA CENTER SERVICES TEAM. THE AGENCY UTILIZES MS SERVICES, ACTIVE DIRECTORY, MS OFFICE 365, AND AZURE CLOUD SERVICES IN A STATE HOSTED AND CLOUD ENVIRONMENT. THIS POSITION WILL REPORT TO THE DATA CENTER SERVICES MANAGER, AND WORK CLOSELY WITH THE AGENCY APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT, INFRASTRUCTURE, AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT TEAMS TO ENSURE SECURE AND RELIABLE RESOURCE ALLOCATION AND MANAGEMENT, WITH A GOAL OF IMPROVED SERVICE AVAILABILITY FOR AGENCY CUSTOMERS, INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL. PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN THE DESIGN, TESTING, SECURITY, MONITORING, IMPLEMENTATION AND USE OF THE AGENCYS EMAIL SOLUTION, SERVERS AND APPLICATION DELIVERY PLATFORMS, AND ACTIVE DIRECTORY ENVIRONMENT. WORKS IN COORDINATION WITH THE SCDSS HELPDESK TO PROCESS SERVICE REQUEST TICKETS AND THE SECURITY TEAM TO PROCESS SECURITY TICKETS.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• PERFORM INSTALLATION, MANAGEMENT, MONITORING, SECURING, AND MAINTENANCE TASKS TO AGENCY SERVERS TO ENSURE A PROPER OPERATING ENVIRONMENT.
• PERFORM ANY HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE UPGRADES TO THE SERVERS, INSTALLING NEW AND ENHANCED PRODUCTS AND FEATURES, AND PERFORMANCE TUNING.
• CONFIGURE AND MONITOR MS ACTIVE DIRECTORY AND MS OFFICE 365.
• MAINTAINS OPERATIONAL AWARENESS AND OVERSIGHT OF THE AGENCY OFFICE 365 TENANT, TO INCLUDE CHECKING LOGS, EDISCOVERY SEARCHES, REMEDIATING SPAM AND/OR COMPROMISED ACCOUNTS, SETTING UP MONITORING AND/OR ALERTS, AND RUNNING COMPLIANCE REPORTS.
• ASSISTS WITH THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONAL NEEDS OF THE MS SYSTEM CENTER SERVERS, INCLUDING MONITORING ALERTS AND RUNNING COMPLIANCE REPORTS.
• RESPOND TO SOC ALERTS FROM SC-ISAC TO INCLUDE MITIGATING SUSPECTED COMPROMISED SYSTEMS
• CONSULT WITH SUPERVISOR AND SECURITY TEAM TO RECOMMEND AND IMPLEMENT UPGRADES, UPDATES, AND ENHANCEMENTS OF SOFTWARE, NETWORK, AND DESKTOP SYSTEMS TO IMPROVE SECURITY AND SECURE OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF AGENCY SERVER SYSTEMS

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
• IT ADMINISTRATION: ABLE TO WORK IN FAST PACED ENVIRONMENT WITH 24/7 AVAILABILITY REQUIRED
• PROFICIENCY AND EXPERIENCE IN CONFIGURING AND TROUBLESHOOTING WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM IN CLIENT/SERVER ENVIRONMENT
• IT ADMINISTRATION: PATCH MANAGEMENT (WORKING WITH SECURITY TEAM AND INFRASTRUCTURE TEAMS)
• CLOUD: KNOWLEDGE OF DATACENTER AND CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE/ DATA STORAGE REQUIREMENTS
• ABILITY TO DIAGNOSE AND TROUBLESHOOT COMPUTER/ SERVER/ NETWORK PROBLEMS
• DESKTOP/SERVER SUPPORT EXPERIENCE
• EXPERIENCE IN UTILIZING IT SERVICE DESK SOLUTION WITH CLIENTS AND TECHNICAL TEAMS
• VERBAL AND WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS
• VALID DRIVERS LICENSE
