Description:

General Requirements (define the specific requirements to be met by this project)
1) Work is preferred to be a combination of onsite and telework attendance. Regardless of the work location it is expected that staff be directly engaged during regular working hours at times when other staff are working (starting somewhere between 6:30 am and 9:00am M-F and ending each day between 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm).

2) Weekly timesheets and status reports to identify work performed will be reviewed and approved.

3) This work is largely analysis of existing code, data, and business processes. It has a strong requirement for fluency with Cobol programming and JCL. Experience working with mainframe environments and IMS databases is highly recommended.

4) Understand business requirements and translate them into code changes.

5) Maintain and enhance custom developed software including: modify and test user data entry screens, batch processing, reports, queries and menus, etc.

6) Troubleshoot and correct compilation errors.

7) Test program changes by setting up JCL, updating test files, running tests, reviewing results and determining the correctness of the program changes based on the requirements provided.

8) Troubleshoot and debug program abends and other processing errors.

9) Follow shop procedures for checking out source code, migrating changes, etc.

10) Obtain user sign-off on all changes prior to moving to production.

11) Provide production support for applications.

12) Perform tasks related to correcting data and production process recovery.

13) Research and report on application logic.
