The individual will receive direction from the Business Analyst assigned to the Department of Corrections. * The individual will be heavily involved in strategic planning, analysis, design, and development of key Department of Corrections Offender Case Management applications as well as other Corrections projects as assigned. The individual will need not only significant technical skills and experience, but also project management and leadership skills. The ability to communicate with technical team members, business users, and executive management is critical. * Under general direction, candidates will serve as an expert-level worker for the development, maintenance and enhancement of computer applications; perform logical and physical database design; be responsible for managing assigned projects utilizing comprehensive project management practices. * Candidates may be required to instruct, direct, mentor or monitor the work of team members. Candidates will work directly with various levels of business and technical staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. Candidates will manage medium to large software development projects without assistance. * Duties include project scope definition; assistance with project plan development and project resource management; assignment of work; estimation and target date planning; project monitoring, control and adjustment; stakeholder communication; issue resolution; coordination with internal and external teams; quality assurance; mentoring and project implementation. * Candidates must have full technical knowledge of all phases of applications development and the development technologies utilized. Candidates will coordinate production support activities, with focus on timely and accurate resolution of issues. Candidates must work cooperatively with other team leaders to coordinate the work of the team. Candidates must have strong organization, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience must be current within the last year. Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
