The successful candidate should have at least 8 years of recent experience utilizing technologies listed under the Qualifications section below. Contractor/Consultant Duties & Responsibilities * Design and development with oversight from System Architect, Project Manager, Lead Developer and other resources * Implementing documented changes to the existing system and deploying these modifications to production. * Providing input and recommendations to project leadership and team members regarding applications systems analysis, design, development, and implementation. * Participating in reviewing user programming requests and consulting with users to clarify work requests and implementation plans. * Maintaining software code, queries, and reports and program applications using current tools and languages. * Conducting tests of applications programs and quality assurance reviews; compiling test and review results for review by others. Qualifications * Experience programming and unit testing Java web applications using a combination of related technologies including but not limited to: Spring Framework (esp. Boot, MVC, Batch and Data), JPA/Hibernate, Oracle Database, MongoDB Database, JAXRS/JAXB, XML, JSON, JSP Custom Tags, JavaScript, Junit, and Mockito. Experience must be recent. * Secondary: Experience with developing applications using recent JavaScript technologies: ES6/7, Node, React, Next.js, Prisma, Apollo, Mongoose, Express, Webpack, Jest. * Experience with technical design, with oversight, and documentation. * Knowledge in these additional tools is preferred, but not required: Jasper Reports, CXF (and web services in general), and Kafka. * Experience with components of a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery deployment processes utilizing tools such as Jenkins or Atlassian Bamboo. * Advanced Experience with most of the following GUI and command-line development support tools: Eclipse, VS Code, Maven, Ant, Git, and Bash. * Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle and “NoSQL” databases like MongoDB. * Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities. * Strong team player who collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources. * Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information and data. * Experience with formal software development life cycle processes. Use of issue tracking and documentation tools such as Atlassian JIRA and Confluence in support of those processes. * Use of source code management tools and techniques such as git, Atlassian Bitbucket, feature branches, and pull requests. * Advanced systems analysis, system and process design, and data processing skills to translate business requirements into user-centric and operationally maintainable technical solutions. * Understands the importance of systems that insure repeatable processes and the need for best practices in software development. * Willing to investigate issues to discover the root cause for system disruptions or problems and understanding the importance of correcting the underlying cause rather than a "quick fix". * Experience in developing web-based applications intended for production deployment to a large user base.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
