You will specialize in fixing all the roadblocks between patients and their ability to leverage their medical record to enrich their lives. You will be one of the first engineers in charge of building out our digital consent platform and integrating our systems into national health networks. The ideal candidate for this position will be a reliable and adept developer who is eager to break down large, technical problems and solve them systematically. Role and Responsibilities | As one of the first hires here, you will have autonomy & flexibility as we develop not just a new product, but culture and thought leadership around our mission. You will be asked to: Ensure design/development/deployment best practices are followed Actively participate in requirements, architecture, and design meetings. Breakdown product requirements into actionable tasks Produce high quality, well documented code Prioritize Information Security into product builds Create and maintain great software architecture that enables our products to be fast, nimble and reliable Shape engineering culture with best practices and quality industry tools Buildout measurement and monitoring systems Stay connected to our clients and end users, including routine participation in services projects Generate innovative approaches and solutions to technology project challenges Write documentation for both internal and external consumers, covering design artifacts, code, and fixes Ensure our product is properly covered with unit tests by creating and maintaining the tests and testing framework Share knowledge and mentor/review work of other developers Qualifications BA or BS Required. 4-8 Years experience building out secure, scalable systems Passion to solve health data interoperability Experience with backend languages (Node.js, other OO language like Java/C++/Go/Rust) Familiarity with Git version control Located or willing to work in New York City Ability to work under conditions of ambiguity in a fast-growth, sometimes uncertain and complex environment Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills Bonus Qualities Frontend development experience (HTML, CSS, client-side JavaScript, frontend frameworks like Angular/React/Vue) Relational database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) Experience with Cloud service hosting Familiarity with health data formats (C-CDA, FHIR, DICOM, etc.) Experience with EMR/HIE systems Experience with the XDS process Experience in the Healthcare industry   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
