Job Description Developer: System Administration, Linux/Unix, FTP, Sftp Visio

Job Description:

Under limited supervision, install and maintain BMCs Control-M Enterprise Manager and Agents on Windows and Linux Servers. Must be able to understand job scheduling and work load balancing. Immediate need to understand critical paths in Batch cycle and provide optimization options and implementation. Also, included in this environment are NTT Datas Batch Processing Environment (BPE), Transaction Processing Environment (TPE) and Transaction Security Facility (TSF) on Red Hats Linux. Knowledge of other software products on Linux, such as NTT Datas COBOL, CAs Easytrieve and Syncsorts SORT utility.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

Install and maintain BMCs Control-M Enterprise Manager and Agents on Windows and Linux Servers.
Must be able to work in conjunction with NTT Datas Batch Processing Environment (BPE), Transaction Processing Environment (TPE) and Transaction Security Facility (TSF) on Red Hats Linux.
Knowledge of other software products on Red Hat Linux, such as NTT Datas COBOL, CAs Easytrieve and Syncsorts SORT utility.
Assist with other tasks in the re-hosting of COBOL applications from an IBM mainframe to Linux servers running NTT Datas Batch Processing Environment (BPE) and Transaction Processing Environment (TPE).
Develop and maintain Linux/Unix shell scripts.
Implement and maintain Linux/Unix security.
Assist other members of IT, such as Application Development, Operations, Distributed Systems and Systems Programmers in the resolution of system hardware and/or software problems.
Monitor performance of the system hardware and software. Isolate, correct and improve operational efficiency through changes to the software packages or reconfiguration of hardware.
Perform appropriate Change Management duties to comply with IT policies and procedures.
Perform appropriate Incident Management duties to comply with IT policies and procedures.
Review security at system level and provide recommendations for improvements.
Report progress on a weekly basis of status on all assigned work tasks in a written report.
On call support and occasional weekend onsite support.

Required Skills:

5 years experience with Linux/Unix.
5 years experience with installation and maintenance of software on Linux/Unix.
3 years experience with interfacing with Operations Staff
Experience with Unix shell scripts, such as ksh, csh, bash or sh.
Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl or Python.
Experience with file transfer protocols, such as FTP or SFTP.
Experience with Microsofts Outlook, EXCEL, WORD and Visio.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Redhat Linux.
Experience with NTT Datas Batch Processing Environment (BPE).
Experience with NTT Datas Transaction Processing Environment (TPE).
Experience with NTT Datas Transaction Security Facility (TSF).
Experience with programming languages, such as C, COBOL or Java.
Experience with Microsofts Windows client and Windows Server.
Experience with Microsofts Active Directory.
Experience with Microsofts SharePoint.
Advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience with Local, State or Federal government

Success Criteria:

In order to be successful in this role, at minimum the candidate should:

Be innovative, energetic, energizing, flexible and eager to learn.
Have 3 to 5 years of IBM z/OS experience as Systems Programmer or Application Developer.
Have 3 to 5 years of IBM CICS experience as Systems Programmer or Application Developer.
Have 3 to 5 years of IBM Job Control Language (JCL) as Systems Programmer or Application Developer.
Knows how to get to the real technica
