DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide maintenance and support for the DPH MEDITECH HCIS and interfaces.
2. Primary Support of the following modules: Billing/Accounts Receivable (BAR), General Ledger (GL), and Materials Management (MM)
a. Secondary Support of the following modules: Admissions (ADM), Abstracting (ABS), Medical Records (MRI), and Community Wide Scheduling (SCH)
3. Development, implement and support all features of the, BAR, MM, GL, ADM, ABS, MRI, and CWS modules including but not limited to: Electronic Claims, Electronic Remittances, Statements, LTC Prospective Payment System, MM Handheld Scanners.
4. Maintain data dictionaries and develop customer-defined screens.
5. Development, implement and support other 3rd party software such as: PC Ace Pro 32, Ivans Remote Access Desktop, Ivans Lime Portal, FormFast
6. Facilitate standardization of dictionaries and system setup across multi-facilities.
7. Develop and maintain user menus.
8. Perform testing, documentation and validation of future MEDITECH versions and other related software.
9. Execute test plans and participate in the testing and integration of patches and scheduled releases of application software to determine stability and compliance with standards.
10. Analyze causes of program failure by using various application tools in order to determine appropriate response to make necessary changes.
11. Work directly with the Core Team Leaders at each facility to develop applications and implement fixes and future software enhancements.
12. Work directly with the software vendor (MEDITECH) on identified issues, questions and concerns and implement the appropriate changes into the DPH MEDITECH system.
13. Implement and support any future interfaces to the above mentioned modules.
14. Monitor CMS regulations for compliance issues and implement changes to the MEDITECH system as needed.
15. May develop NPR reports as needed.
16. Assist with training other IT staff and end-users as appropriate.
17. Develop training scripts and documentation as appropriate.
18. Designs applications to accommodate user needs and hardware capabilities, modifies existing programs and documentation for changes in hardware, user specifications and other related reasons.
19. Maintains and documents all issues in the BOPHF ticket tracking system.
20. Communicate fixes and updates to hospital staff.
21. Work with other application analysts on team projects.
Provides coverage for the Bureaus Help Desk staff during peak times and as needed.

7. QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED AT HIRE
1. 2 years working knowledge of the MEDITECH client/server software application.
2. Experience working with the MEDITECH Billing/Accounts Receivable application.
3. Experience with the MEDITECH implementation methodology in a multi-facility environment.
4. Experience developing and maintaining statements, bills, claims, and remittances

5. Experience implementing electronic claims.
6. Knowledge of financial and administrative hospital operations
7. Experience working with CMS.
8. Experience working with NHIC.
9. Experience with hospital JCAHO surveys.
10. Knowledge of JCAHO and HIPAA regulatory requirements.
11. Familiar with Pro32, Ivans Remote Access Desktop, and Ivans Limeportal.
12. Experience in public or private acute/chronic level of care hospital.
13. Experience in public or private long term care level of care hospital preferred.
14. Knowledge of information technology and system design life cycles as attained through a 4 year college program in information systems, computer science, business, or related field.
