Junior System Security Engineer - Linux

Candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens, and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance.

The Junior System Security Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting senior System Security and laboratory Engineers in designing, engineering, implementing and monitoring security controls for the protection of classified computer systems, networks and information in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Industrial Security Program (NISP) standards.

Candidates must be motivated and energetic with the ability to work with minimum supervision. We are seeking someone with a good work ethic, ability to prioritize and a quick learner. Organization, time management, attention to detail, thoroughness, and decision-making independence are necessary.

Requirements:

Working knowledge of Linux
Working knowledge of Wide Area Networks (configuration, monitoring and support)
Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills
Proficient in scripting and programing languages, Bash, C, C++, Python, PhP
Familiarity with Cisco switches.
Familiarity with hardware provisioning, installation, configuration, maintenance
Familiarity with VMWare environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology related field such as computer/software engineering.

Experience: Entry Level / Recent College Graduate

Other: Due to our research contracts with the US federal government and the responsibilities of this position, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens, and must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance.
