The engineer must have experience with the Tivoli Monitoring Toolset on a Linux &/or Windows platform. Duties include: * Day to day operations and maintenance of all monitoring toolsets used by ITD. * Monitor all systems/processes; escalate and assume ownership of issues as needed to ensure resolution is provided in timely manner * Act as lead liaison for interfacing technical administrators implementing a monitoring solution; specifically with Tivoli. * Design and implement application enhancements, customize monitoring solutions, and troubleshoot. * Ensure integrated monitoring products are functioning correctly and work with application owners to modify it as required. * Review new monitoring tool products and analyze industry trends to define future monitoring solutions. * Develop and maintain an overall Enterprise Monitoring Architecture for ITD. Technical Duties: * Provide technical insight for support teams in the Tivoli Monitoring environment; specifically in the set up. * Troubleshoot and resolve Tivoli Monitoring issues. * Participate in implementation and documentation of all monitoring activities. * Act as main point of contact for Tivoli Monitoring applications, configuring and working with tools on a daily basis. * Responsible for leading joint resolution teams for critical enterprise service availability incidents. * Utilize SNMP based tools for monitoring for the overall health of the network devices. * Provide a monitoring solution for large scale N-Tier application deployments. * Deliver server, network, & application benchmarks for enterprise applications. * Responsible for the design, installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of monitoring tool sets in a timely manner. * Create and provide performance reports for equipment and applications being monitored, as well as trend analysis reports. * Implement customization for enterprise monitoring management tools that would aid in problem resolution and business service improvement. Business Duties: * Prepare technical documents and periodically present to peers and senior management. * Manage and direct needs assessments and present solutions to senior managers. Required Skills: * Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in maintaining the Tivoli monitoring toolset * 3 years of administrative experience with Tivoli monitoring toolset – ITM, ITCAM, TSRM, TIP, ITM, ITNM, TSRM & other. * 2 year of administrative experience with Omnibus, Netcool/Impact & other. * 3 years of experience utilizing Tivoli toolsets to monitor large multi-vendor IT environment. * Extensive working knowledge of Linux, Windows 2003/2008, Open Source tools, and scripting languages in those environments. * Experience with AIX, HP-UX. * Basic understanding of network device monitoring practices. * Practical experience with configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the Tivoli monitoring toolset. * Ability to analyze, identify and resolve Tivoli toolset issues within a team environment. * Working knowledge of Hobbit, Solarwinds and HP Openview. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Knowledge of BIRT/Cognos reporting tool. * CCNA preferred   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
