Complete Description : The Architect has the ability to design, develop, and implement application infrastructure to provide reliable and scalable applications and systems to meet the organizations objectives and requirements. The Architect is familiar with a variety of the application technologies, environments, concepts, methodologies, practices, and procedures. The Architect is also able to perform a variety of complicated tasks with minimal or no direct supervision. The Architect is experienced in defining systems and application architecture. Responsibilities : * Determine the proper product for an agency file integrity monitoring solution and implementing it in the post transactional portion of the PCI network. * Perform a PCI audit on the agency point of sale register system. * Ensure logs from multiple sources and locations all are housed in the agency log correlation server, NetForensics, and that the system be configured to send appropriate alerts to responsible parties when abnormal activity is detected. * Ensure the least privilege principle is used throughout the enterprise. * Work with application developers to ensure web application and in house applications that involve commerce or e-commerce are written in a secure manner and meet PCI and Commonwealth requirements. * Ensure proper encryption key management procedures are put in place and ensure that keys are rotated as appropriate. * Work with agency personnel to create system hardening documentation for servers and network devices and implement the changes into production. * Perform an analysis of agency firewalls (Checkpoint, router and wireless access point ACLs) to ensure the proper services are enabled for the people and hardware that require access. * Perform an audit on agency VPN accounts to ensure the appropriate people are able to access the appropriate resources within the agency network. * Assist with agency security staff in creating an agency wide vulnerability assessment program. Emphasis will be on using open source tools and tools already purchased by the agency. If vulnerabilities are discovered, work with agency security team and responsible parties to ensure remediation of the vulnerability or implementation of a compensating control. * Assist agency security staff in creating a penetration testing program that ensures we meet PCI requirements and minimize any potential negative effects. * Hardware Platforms Utilized * Servers – Windows 2003 / 2008, SuSE Linux and AIX * Network devices – Cisco routers and switches, Motorola wireless access points and Checkpoint firewalls. * Web Application – IBM Websphere Additional Information : * The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board owns and operates 620 liquor stores across the state of Pennsylvania. The agency also operates an e-commerce website designed to enable the sale of wine and spirits online. * The PLCB is a level 1 PCI retailer and therefore must meet all of the requirements that are outlined in the PCI DSS (https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/).
