Responsibilities: Lead a work stream as a team lead and manage components of the work plan/project. Utilize analytical, process, and technical skills to meet project objectives and deliverables Works closely with leadership and developers of various teams to assess existing problems and to come up with process improvements Demonstrate the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels and mentor developers Identifies bottlenecks in coding development and deployment processes Participates in delivery planning, code quality, and process efficiency improvement Executes on plan by building coding standards and automating processes for the organization Surveys developers and technical members of the organization to understand pain points in the coding and development process Collaborate with application developers, end users, operational leadership, and subject matter experts to understand current and future goals. Recommend modern technology stacks to meet those goals and help engineering teams migrate towards their use in order to meet business objectives Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of programming experience Minimum of 3 years of Kafka platform experience Experience in open source Kafka, ZooKeeper, Kafka Connect, schema registry (avro schemas) Experience with automation tools like provisioning using OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, or Chef Solid knowledge in administration and operations of the Kafka platform including provisioning and access lists (Kerberos) Experience working in applications, systems, or IT operations Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g. git/github, Jenkins, bamboo, gradle/maven, artifactory) Experience in agile methodology such as sprint planning and backlog grooming Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in java/.Net, data structures, algorithms, and software design Possesses working knowledge of two or more programming languages Comfort with frequent, incremental coding and testing activities Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace Passion for innovation and “can do” attitude Client facing or consulting experience highly preferred Skilled problem solvers with the desire and proven ability to create innovative solutions.
