Project Manager Manager (Jobs in Boston, MA)   Requirement id 10728 Job title Manager Job location in Boston, MA Skills required Project Manager, PMI Certification, MS PROJECT, Open Date 09-Aug-2012 Close Date Job type Contract Duration 11 Months Compensation DOE Status requirement --- Job interview type Phone Screen and Face to Face interview    Email Recruiter: coolsoft Job Description Manager: Project Manager, PMI Certification, MS PROJECT, [Note: Submission DeadLine: 08/15/2012 05:00PM ] [Note: Estimated Units : 1600 hours] {Note: Project EndDate: June 30, 2013] Description: • Serve as the overall senior level project manager and driving catalyst for the project to ensure that project deadlines and deliverables are achieved on time • Develop and maintain a detailed project/implementation plan including alignment/integration with Vendors project plan and EOE IT teams tasks • Drive to project schedule and immediately addresses and communicates schedule slippage • Lead and directs the EOE IT Project team that is staffed primarily by EOE contract employees, developing a cohesive team that will build the necessary forward momentum to achieve the goals and objectives of the project • Ensure that the technical team is effectively interacting with the functional team • Track and report on the project budget and spend to date • Make monthly presentations of project status to the Information Technology Division of the Commonwealth (ITD) including the completion and submittal of the ITD PMO Dashboard. • Have excellent communication skills in order to keep all stakeholders informed of project status which may include assisting in development of monthly newsletters to larger stakeholder audience • Facilitate meetings, presentations & product demos as necessary as well as conduct debrief/informational sessions with external stakeholders (ex. Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies -CCR&Rs) • Ensure that the training/change management staff is engaged on the project at the appropriate time to be able to learn the new system, develop and deliver training in a timely fashion. • Be the primary contact for the vendors project manager and team to receive project updates and status reports • Review and update weekly status reports and schedule weekly project team meetings • Coordinate participation from Commonwealth agencies as required during the engagement • Identify, document and communicate all risks to the project Steering Committee • Act as lead representing and tracking concerns from EEC stakeholders • Document and follow up on feedback/action items from EEC stakeholders and CIO • Coordinate the Projects review of the deliverables and obtain appropriate signature to signify acceptance for each accepted deliverable within the noted deliverable acceptance period • Escalate major impacts to schedule or product quality to CIO/SCIO (chief information officer/secretariat chief information officer) in coordination with vendor and independent verification and validation (IV&V) teams • Communicate effectively using Microsoft Office suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and effective interpersonal skills • Manage and balance the competing interests of the projects different stakeholders Required Skills: • Ability to take direction and work to specified deadlines • Displays professionalism and a commitment to quality • Consistent attention to detail • Project Manager must have 7+ years PM experience, PMI Certification is a plus. Preffered Skills: The Project Manager should have demonstrated experience/proven track record in conducting at least one large IT project from beginning to end, bringing the project in on schedule and on budget with minimum customer satisfaction issues.
