Description:

RAD Developer/Sr. - Hourly:

The RAD Developer will work closely with the business users across all the business domains of FronOffice, MiddleOffice and BackOffice to develop applications and tools within a customer-focussed global environment. A high degree of expertise is required with technologies such as ASP .NET with Jquery, AJAX, C# .NET, SQL Server and MS Excel/Access besides the domain business knowledge.

The RAD Developer will operate effectively at a regional level (and sometimes at a global level), building relationships with other members of the local (and global) RAD team, GOI team and Architecture teams, and will ensure that the business needs are met in the fast faced trading environment.

Key Accountabilities:

Work closely with the business teams to deliver robust technical solutions
Make recommendations to solve business problems measured by feedback from key business users to the RAD Manager.
Collaborate with team members to design successful project solutions. Measured by feedback from the team to RAD Manager on a monthly basis.
Work with other developers, Business Analysts and testers as part of the wider team within Oil Americas and Finance Information Technology and Services.
Contribute to the overall implementation of tactical/RAD projects as part of the development team.
Undertake analysis of systems, business processes, data and interfaces.
Supplement the existing RAD support team to provide application/system support to the regional applications
Assist with establishing an effective environment for rapid application development in the trading arena
Ensure that all projects are brought to RAD Managers attention for review and prioritization
Escalate and alert RAD Manager of any major incidents encountered within 24 hours of incident.
Ensure that application rollouts are coordinated and there is effective collaboration with architecture, GOI and other support teams.
Record and track all development and support work in the appropriate systems
Provide status reports to RAD Manager on a weekly basis highlighted progress for individual and team

Essential Criteria & Qualifications

Essential Technical:
Extensive experience in development and support of web based solutions with business knowledge in Finance and Structured Products or Oil and other aspects of the Energy industry.
Able to function in a fast paced, high pressure environment where satisfying requirements on time is paramount
Deep expertise with a range of technologies such as ASP .NET 3.5/4.0 with JQuery/JSON, C# .NET, SQL server, AJAX, MVC2, HTML5, VBA, MS Excel, MS Access
Proficiency with web based development and service-based development
Familiarity with Object Oriented analysis and design
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
Experience gathering and documenting system requirements
Excellent multi-tasking, problem solving & analytical skills
Strong written & verbal communication skills
Motivated, proactive & independent. Also works effectively within teams
Experience of building/guiding complex technical solutions from inception to delivery
Aware of new technologies to best fit business requirements and the ability to learn those technologies quickly
Bachelors degree or above in computer science and engineering or equivalent

Preferred:
Experience of systems that facilitate Problem, Change and Release Management
Knowledge of architectural standards i.e. TOGAF, Zachmann or ATAM
SCRUM Developer or above certification
Knowledge of Silverlight 3.0 or above
Knowledge of project management methodologies
