Title: Solution Engineer Location: Market Square Building, 1515 SW 5th Ave. Portland, Oregon (NO REMOTE) Duration: 18 month contract Hours: 8 to 5 – Monday - Friday In summary, this position is responsible for overseeing business analysis, ETL development, advanced metadata management, report and dashboard design and development for the clinical mission of the CDW Transition project and to work with the other project streams to align on methodologies, standards, and timelines. Systems Analysis: Facilitates customer requests for new or changed solutions. Conducts customer requirements workshops, develops options with recommendation, creates functional specifications including performance requirements, creates test plans to confirm delivered functionality. Defines and writes technical documentation related to systems and applications as necessary. Systems Engineering with Clinical Reporting Focus: Uses requirements captured from their own capture of requirements or those delivered by BI Business Analysts as well as knowledge of Epic Clarity / CDW to develop metadata (Universe) models, reporting and dashboard solutions. These will be primarily with SAP Business Objects and Tableau. Development and maintenance will follow client standards. Works closely with other IT staff to meet expectations for design reviews and coding standards. Provides issue resolution during Quality Assurance / User testing. Assists with the move to production/implementation process. Systems Engineering/User Support: Provides technical expertise to support end users developing ad-hoc queries and departmental reports. Support could include consulting on techniques/best practices, troubleshooting of their solutions, as well as promotion of user developed solutions to QA and Production. Systems Administration/Data: Use an approved query tool (Crystal, Webi, PL/SQL, etc.) to identify data quality and data relationships to assist with the design of efficient and effective reporting solutions. Provide support to data warehouse developers, line-of-business analysts and users to validate data in the data warehouse. Investigate and report on problems and work to ensure the validity of the data warehouse.
