Description:

The Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) is seeking to hire a Unified Communications Network Architect that will be joining the EHHS Unified Communications team. The Unified Communications Network Architect is responsible in increasing customer/user satisfaction as it relates to IT network infrastructure. The Network Architect will document and promote IT network infrastructure policies & procedures. The Network Architect will be performing similar tasks associated with change management, quality assurance, performance monitoring, capacity planning, systems engineering, disaster recovery planning, and project management. The candidate shall perform tasks associated with managing, prioritizing and resolving related Help Desk tickets, coordinates site visits with service providers Assesses debugs and resolves technical problems associated with Cisco switches and routers, VOIP circuits, wireless networking, and video conferencing equipment.

Job Duties:
• Responds to and resolves tickets and incidents in accordance with EOHHS IT policies and procedures as they relate to customer support and updates for Unified Communication.
• Manages the upgrade of hardware and software when necessary to insure that all services are provided in a secure and timely fashion.
• Researches and keeps abreast of the latest network equipment, including VOIP switches, routers, wireless network components and videoconferencing systems, then recommends the best practices, processes, and solutions available to support end users.
• Acts as a point person during build outs and moves for all wireless networking- and video conferencing-related planning and implementation.
• Clearly communicates to the Change Management group any IT operations issues or disruptions (planned or unplanned) to minimize user impact.
• Works collaboratively with internal and external groups in a team environment to improve overall customer service and support.
• Provides timely response and support during scheduled and authorized non-business hours to insure continuity of services to the network environment.
• Acts as the contact person for related office wiring/cable installations.
• Manages site-specific projects as related to network infrastructure, Wi-Fi, videoconferencing & server support.
• Participates in the development of the documentation of video conferencing systems, servers, infrastructure and practices by providing written and/or verbal communications to effectively maintain a resource of standard practices.
• Utilizes specialized tools to manage the network and ensure efficiency of system resources
• Reviews customers requested new capabilities, assesses available options, and writes summary statements for management recommending technology solutions.
• Supports other teams such as application development, operations, security, etc. with regards to infrastructure components, which may include technical meetings with those groups to discuss requirements, alternative solutions, training related to new technologies, etc.
• Provides training on policies and procedures to other members of the group.
Qualifications:

• Strong working knowledge of Cisco and Juniper based networks and VOIP infrastructure, including Cisco switches, Cisco routers, and TCP/IP.
• Proven experience in creating and configuring Local and Wide Area Networks (physical and VLANs).
• Working knowledge of design, integration and support of enterprise wireless networking and videoconferencing equipment in a Microsoft network.
