Description:


Our client is seeking a Multi Service Voice Customer Support Engineer in support of IOS voice solutions. In this role one will gain insight on the detailed interworking and implementation of solutions, as well as a depth of knowledge in advanced Voice-over-IP (VoIP) skills to become an industry expert.
- The ideal candidate demonstrates an aptitude and appetite for learning new and highly complex technologies, evidenced by the ability to expand upon existing knowledge. In lieu of VoIP experience, candidates with strong Cisco IP networking experience will also be considered for this role.

responsibilities:
- Provide top-level technical support for IOS voice solutions to external customers, as well as internal teams and partners.
- Apply analytical skills and technical knowledge to solve product and network problems of moderate to high complexity.
- Act as a technical expert and provides support on a world-wide basis.
- Generate clear and concise documentation in the form of case notes, technical tips and white papers.
- Attend and develop new technology/product training.
- Utilize internal lab resources to recreate and solve complex problems.
- Identify and provide assistance to development for resolution of existing software defects.
- Collaborate with other technical support teams and development teams at a peer level.

Technical responsibilities:
- Protocols & Concepts - SIP, H.323, MGCP, ISDN (Voice PRI/BRI), Analog Telephony (FXO/FXS), Quality of Service (QoS) and voice quality issues, dial-peers, T.38, fax over IP, TCP/IP, and fundamental routing & switching knowledge.
- Products - IOS Voice Gateways, Unified Call Manager (CUCM), Call Manager Express [CME], Unified Border Element (CUBE), Unity Express (CUE), Unified SIP Proxy (CUSP).

Required Experience and Skills:
- Understanding of fundamental network infrastructure concepts including routing, switching, and TCP/IP.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex and ambiguous issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience or interest in learning VoIP technologies.

Preferred Skills:
- BS in a technical field (such as CS, EE, IT) or equivalent plus 3-5 years related experience.
- Knowledge of telecommunication systems and IP network environments.
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting all aspects of Cisco VoIP solutions.
- CCNA, CCNP, CCVP, or CCIE Certification in any subspecialty.
