The dashboards will need to be dynamic in nature and allow for viewers to select various subsets within the data, such as year, sex, age-group, household income, race/ethnicity, etc. The data to be used has already been collected and is maintained by the Division of Public Health. The contractor would be expected to work with DPH staff to develop the look and function of the dashboards before creating the final versions. The data dashboards will provide data visualization of Idahos 31 Leading Health Indicators and approximately 20 to 30 indicators associated with the Idaho Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) survey. These indicators include prevalence estimates and rates for various health conditions and behaviors with data being represented as percentages, rates, and numbers broken out by geographic (public health district, county, and/or census tract) and standard demographic categories (age, sex, race/ethnicity, income, etc.). The indicators represent a snap-shot of the health of Idahoans and are used by the Division and its many partners and stakeholders for grant writing, program planning, public health surveillance, and program evaluation (i.e., long-term indicators). The contractor is expected to work approximately ¾ time each week, including around 1-2 hours per week consulting with DPH staff on data dashboard design, functionality, testing, etc. All dashboards will be completed by January 31, 2019 (including testing and embedding into the DPHs gethealthy.dhw.idaho.gov website). The contractor shall be responsible for providing their own computer and a licensed copy of Tableau Desktop Professional Version 2018.2 or newer. The contractor will work at an off-site location but will be required to meet on-site with DPH staff weekly for 1-2 hours. The contractor should have four plus years of relevant experience and also be knowledgeable and able to work independently using Tableau Desktop software (vers. 2018.2 or newer), data management software (e.g., Microsoft Excel or similar software which Tableau Desktop can connect with), and work independently to develop, create, and test data dashboards and have a good understanding of data dashboard best practices. Specific Skills Required (Programming languages, databases, operating systems, etc.) • Good understanding of and ability to work independently on Tableau Desktop Professional • Ability to work independently using Excel or similar data spreadsheet or analysis software to appropriately format data for use with Tableau • Good understanding of data visualization best practices • Good understanding of and experience in data dashboard development using best practices • Designing, coding, testing, and implementing data reporting structures using third-party business intelligence tools. • Knowledgeable in tool security, administration, and upgrades.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
