We are looking for a talented technical writer to help create and build out a modern documentation library. You will be a core part of the team working closely within IT to create resources that take software from installation to troubleshooting.

Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document. Technical Writer capabilities with 4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Summary

We are looking for a talented technical writer to help create and build out a modern documentation library. You will be a core part of the team working closely within IT to create resources that take software from installation to troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
2. Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
3. Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides
4. Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
5. Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
6. Work with Business Analysis, Applications, Desktop Support and Departmental SMEs to produce and maintain modern documentation.
7. Manage updates and revisions to technical documents.

Requirements:

8. Proven working experience (4+ years) in technical writing of software documentation.
9. Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail.
10. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures for multiple audiences.
11. Excellent written skills in English.
12. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
13. Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
14. Very strong analytical skills and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with evolving project requirements and priorities.
15. Portfolio of work and/or writing examples.

Comments:

1. This position will be a combination of remote and on-site work at this time.
2. Selected contractor will be required to submit to thorough background investigation(s) prior to hiring
3. Background investigation fees or other related costs will not be reimbursed
4. Travel related expenses including additional mileage will not be reimbursed
5. On call time will not be paid. Parking is not free or reimbursed.
