To do so, they need to onboard all enterprise data into Splunk. Short term Responsibilities: This team requires individuals that understand how to interact with various customers and gather required information Many customers are not familiar with what data is needed or where it is, these team members will be assisting in this process and pulling information together Long term Responsibilities: Once the initial backlog is alleviated, the team members will move their focus toward strategic work. This will involve team members working with internal customers to help them understand the “why” behind moving their data to Splunk and how the tool will benefit them long-term. The teams vision is to be more than “data onboarders” and act as educators of Splunk to the enterprise. Requirements: Must understand and be experienced with the following: How to work in a 100% remote/virtual environment- no flex here Splunk configuration files Code repository Moving data from developer? UAT Present changes to the business, explain the business impact (ex. Will this change cause a rolling restart of search heads?) What is required of the infrastructure based on the changes they are making? Excellent customer service and presentation skills- will present their changes in the release meetings and be expected to own changes from beginning to end Ex: team members will be responsible for entire process from end to end: Gathering information, configuring the change, presenting to the business in release meeting and validate during release Other Challenge w/ previous team members: Not familiar with tool and process Ex. Took down several search heads as part of a change, moved to production before change was approved Dont understand the fundamentals of Splunk (configuration files, impact of changes they are making) Need to understand how to work in a virtual environment- must have previous experience working 100% remote- have setup at home Asked in IV: How do you stay connected with a virtual team, what are your best practices?
