Description :
Client has an exciting opportunity for a Client Server Programmer on a long term engagement location in Albany,NY
The Client Server Programmer will be perform activities related to writing the instruction code using WCF, WPF and .Net, testing modules and components, and providing guidance on best practices and standards for the members of the development team. S/he will participate in the integration of components and linking the new architecture to the existing platform to ensure functionality is correctly developed.

The individual selected is expected to possess (amongst others) the following skills:
* Knowledge and understanding of the development activities of large scale projects
* System wide vision the ability to see how the parts interact with the whole (big picture visionary)
* Ability to articulate and communicate complex technical issues in a way that non-technical individuals can understand
* Exceptional interpersonal and mentoring skills
* Should be customer service orientated

The following activities are indicative of the assignments :
* participation in requirement and design sessions
* modeling and documenting solutions for changes and enhancements
* assist the Application Development team in preparing technical designs and perform construction activities
* will work as part of the development team to perform technical activities related to writing the instruction code using WCF, WPF and .net and testing modules and components
* will participate in the integration of components and linking the new architecture to the existing platform to ensure functionality is correctly developed
* support the application through the testing and implementation phases, including product test, stress/load test etc.
* developing appropriate system documentation
* facilitate the knowledge transfer between the Technical IT staff and the Program staff responsible for testing, training, and implementation
* assist Implementations staff, when needed, reviewing system release notes

Required Skills :
> Associates degree
> Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Development
> UML
> XML
> N-tiered client/server development
> Web services
> JAVA based tools such as:
> Websphere
> Enterprise Java Beans
> IBM HTTP Server
> Ant Java build tool

Must have a minimum of two years experience performing development work in one or more of the following specialty areas:
> Unisys COBOL
> Micro Focus COBOL
> MAPPER
> RDMS
> C++
> Visual Basic 6.0
> Visual Studio .Net (or latest version)
> IIS
> COM+
> Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g, or higher
> Windows NT/2000/XP (or latest version of Microsoft Operating System)
> Telecommunications
> GUI

DESIRABLE SKILLS :
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* At least 3 years experience in client, business tier and data tier application development of complex, n-tiered client-server applications using .NET
* At least 3 years experience developing applications using VB.NET and WPF
* At least 3 years experience developing applications using VB.NET and WCF
* At least 3 years experience developing applications using the MVC or MVVM patterns
* At least 3 years experience using SQL, PL/SQL writing stored procedures, functions, packages preferable in Oracle 10g or higher
* At least 2 years experience writing unit tests
* At least 3 years experience performing regression and integration testing
* At least 2 years experience in performing knowledge transfer to client staff of programming techniques supporting the development of n-tiered client-server applications. (Provide concrete work experience not theory).
