They are able to understand a business demand, and map that down to the particular IT capability required. This person can articulate why a particular technology (such as NSX, or Virtualization) is needed, and how it maps back to a particular business need. Framework: This person has been indoctrinated in a particular Architectural framework, and can help adopt it to a particular design (e.g. TOGAF for example). They know exactly how to express an Architectural Design, and know exactly what a team of implementers are going to need to build the solution. Knowledge: This person has subject matter expertise around virtualization, configuration management, infrastructure design, IT Service Management, etc. Ideally, this person would have architected a private cloud solution. They have worked with an organization that had a highly manual infrastructure, and have worked in the solution space to move it to a more automated/Orchestrated outcome. Ideally, this person would have subject matter expertise around VMWare, vRealize (vCAC, vCO). Communication: This person is very articulate, and is comfortable in front of a room full of technical Engineers, or a room full of project leaders (Customer, Project Manager, Producers, etc.) Collaboration: This person has worked in a collaborative environment. They know what level of a design needs to be provided up-front, and what portion of the design can be iterated on with a team. This person has participated in SCRUMS. Leader: This person in a leader amongst other technical stakeholders.
