They require an expert VMware and SAN Systems Architect with over fifteen experience to support our Federal Government customer. Candidate will work as part of the Infrastructure Operations team supporting the Application Hosting Environment (AHE) and Server Infrastructure Data Center. The duration of this position is 6-8 weeks. Job Responsibilities: Review and re-architect exiting VMware and SAN systems infrastructure Assess and configure/ improve the VMWare vSphere (ESXi, Update Manager, PSC, vCenter, vROPs) Investigate and understand current system, identify issues, develop architecture and implementation plan Implement plan in existing environment while maintaining ongoing operations Build/rebuild Windows and Linux servers (virtual and physical) and configure related network/disk systems Research and improve the VMware envirnemnt, automating system administration tasks where possible Establish/ update regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions Develop and implement backup and recovery plans (Vmware snapshots where appropriate Apply OS patches and upgrades on as needed and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary Establish capability to report/ support capacity planning Provide performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required Skills and Experience: Senior Level IT Infrastructure Architect with extensive System Administration Experience Senior Level expertise working in an enterprise or government IT infrastructure operations environment Expert in virtualization systems, data storage, and clustering VMware 5.5, vSphere and SAN (Storage Area Networks) and NAS expertise.
