This position is remote. However, position status is subject to change.

* Hybrid/On Site positions: Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidates expense. No designated work-space will be assigned however, selected candidate must be available to work at our location as needed. DCF work location is 201 W. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53703. DCF does not pay for travel time or reimburse for travel expenses.


Description :

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and small project work for DCF networking and telecommunication services.
The candidate will need extensive experience in managing Cisco Unified Communications suite of software and services including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Call Center (CCX), Unity, and Expressway. They will be required to assist with the management of the Cisco Unified Communications VoIP system. This includes an understanding and tracing of VoIP calls using tools within the system and will include but not be limited to creating users, setting up Voicemail, phone setup, and troubleshooting VoIP phone and system issues. The person will be required to work with various vendors in the setup and connectivity of software, applications, and cloud services.
The candidate will need a strong understanding in network design to assist in the configuration of network services to support the agency applications and system connectivity of critical applications. This includes requesting the proper firewall ports are configured, F5 load balancing, and security is configured according to agency requirements and best practices. .
The candidate will need strong communication skills for managing vendors, coordinating changes with program areas, and working within a dynamic team environment. Change management experience is required, and the candidate would be expected to utilize and understand industry standards and best practices, and provide formal documentation as requested. A strong knowledge of networking is needed including knowledge of VoIP telephony networking. A good understanding of network protocols used for application communication is needed and the ability to translate that information into network diagrams will be required. A wide degree of latitude in the infrastructure knowledge is expected but not limited to LAN, WAN, Firewall, VoIP, application protocols, and application load balancing.
