The INTS has an overall knowledge of IT infrastructure and architecture that serves as a strong base for technical expertise in a specific product or program. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. • Collaborate with IT, County management and leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs with financially sound solutions. • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. • Work with inter-agency organizations, state and local agencies, and associated organizations to design connectivity and security solutions. • Assist Network Architect in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery. • Manage the design, implementation, documentation and support of the printer environment, resources needed, and management of software application associated with system • Manage the design, implementation, documentation and support of the camera environment, resources needed, and software application associated with system • Manage the design, implementation, documentation and support of the audio/visual environment, resources needed, and management of software application associated with system • Support and assist with architecture behind LANs, WANs, wireless networks, UPSs, and other related network hardware solutions • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to maintain compliant with security standards in the networking industry • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. • Interact and negotiate with vendors, contractors, and partner agencies to secure network products and services. • Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes. • Research and review new technologies and advancements in network applications and resources • Stay current on security trends that are applicable to securing the environment; including but not limited to patches and vulnerability assessments • Define and document best practice procedures for implementation and maintenance of the environment • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot problem areas and respond in a timely manner as needed. • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting and video and printer hardware and software solutions. • Monitor and ensure network connectivity for systems reliant on network access • Practice network asset management, which includes the maintenance of network component inventory, lifecycle of product inventory, contract renewals and technical specifications documentation. • Monitor and test network performance and provide network audit statistics and reports. • Participate in managing all network security solutions and provide recommendation for necessary improvement • Perform network and security audits • Participate in training and seminars as it relates to necessary KSAs MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience • University degree in computer science or related fields and/or 5 - 7 years equivalent work experience.
